About

The Campus Biodiversity Register Project is an initiative of the Nature on Campus team at the Nature Conservation Foundation (NCF), together with the National Biodiversity Authority, Government of India. 

The project takes its inspiration from the People's Biodiversity Register effort, in which comprehensive information on the biodiversity of a village, town or city is locally generated, curated, and maintained.

The Campus Biodiversity Register project works with colleges and universities across India to document and celebrate the biodiversity found on their campuses, and create their own Campus Biodiversity Registers.

The project is powered by biodiversity documentation platforms iNaturalist, eBird, and SeasonWatch. Knowledge support is provided by Bird Count India and Early Bird.
